The author and his wife Kathy have two children- Stacy and William, III-and four grandchildren, whom they adore. Gulya derives great satisfaction from using his extensive experience and knowledge to make a difference in people's lives. Mr. Gulya has written a candid, first hand how-to for those of us thinking of pursuing a career as an expert witness. Although my area of concentration would not be site construction, this book is a great primer that can be used in many fields. Mr. Gulya's advice can be utilized by many of us who are looking for a second career after retirement but not exactly sure how to go about the start up. He honestly portrays the ups and the pitfalls, the many hours of pre- trial prep that must be done, the kind of set up work he had to do to get his website up and running and how to be ready to handle the relentless questioning by the opposing attorneys. I truly found this book to be not only informative but interesting and I will use it as reference as I continue building my second career. Again, Mr Gulya, thank you for your frank and honest portrayal of what one might face in the expert witness field.

William Gulya provides for readers the benefit of his experience as an expert witness - how he got started and how he created his litigation support practice, along with the candor of his "learning experiences" along the way. He includes specific information and examples, which can be very helpful to a budding expert consultant, including Expert Report writing, deposition behavior, and courtroom situations. But this is not dry reading - it is entertaining and reads like what it is-a true story of his professional life culminating in a successful expert witness practice.

The author has given us an easy to understand playbook if you will on how to get started and be successful as an expert witness. I found the information very interesting and easy to grasp. I enjoyed the book very much and I believe this would help anyone trying to break into this difficult profession. Experience is great now how do I get started and get noticed in my new profession.
