She is also the author of The Safe Child Book and 10 Days to a Bully-Proof Child.
Dr. Kraizer has taught and worked with schools for more than twenty-five years, developing programs that provide effective, affordable life skills education. The only negative thing I have to say about this book is that the chapter on Internet safety is VERY outdated. I'd love to see an update with discussions about Twitter, Facebook, and Internet use on mobile devices instead of discussions about chat rooms and Compuserv. However, that is only one short chapter and I did not buy this book for advice on Internet safety. Additionally, the general approach to teaching children to be safe is timeless and applies with any situation - including Internet use.

Examples are teaching a child how to stay out of arms reach if a stranger came into the garden, by playing non threatening games of reaching out to them so they understand distance. Explaining that if someone knows their name it doesn't mean they aren't a stranger. Apparently this is a way strangers will approach children, by pretending they are a friend that knows the family, and in studies children will go along with suggestions from a stranger that knows their name.
Many other things to learn in this book. I advise buying it when your children are preschoolers and starting them off on the right track.
Well worth buying, I wouldn't want to be without it. It has given me confidence, as my children start school, that they are more likely to stand up for themselves. Thanks to the author for her good work!
