Jack Spadaro - Mine Safety & Health and Environmental Consulting
provides consulting services to attorneys, labor unions, companies, and organizations involving the Health and Safety of Miners
in surface and underground coal and metal / non-metal mines on a national basis. Mr. Spadaro has spent nearly 38 years in public service, safe-guarding coal miners and their communities from life-threatening environmental and health and safety hazards caused by mining operations.
Mr. Spadaro has written federal and state regulations regarding implementation of mine health and safety laws and environmental laws related to mining. He was the Director of the National Mine Health and Safety Academy operated by the Mine Safety and Health Administration before becoming a mine health and safety consultant. He provides expertise in the application of the Mine Safety and Health Act to clients needing advice and knowledge of the federal regulations and industry standards related to mine worker health and safety. He also provides services regarding the Federal Surface Mining Control and Reclamation Act (SMCRA).
A lecturer and speaker, Mr. Spadaro delivers presentations and conducts workshops in the academic environment to educate high school, college, university students, and the general public regarding the adverse environmental impacts of certain damaging types of mining practices. He has been recognized as an expert in mining safety and health and the mining environment at academic conferences and has received numerous honors and awards throughout his esteemed career.
