She is also a Co-Chairman on the Clinical Faculty Committee, Member of the Residency Education Training Committee, and an Associate Clinical Professor with Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia. Dr. Sheorn oversees the development of treatment skills of young psychiatrists and teaches Mental Status Exam, Diagnostic Interviewing, Group Therapy, and Object Relations Theory.

- Dr. Sheorn lectures nationally, providing continuing education to other physicians and professionals in their field. She delivers presentations on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder to such entities as the American Bar Association, Psychopharmacology School of Psychology and Social Work, and the American College of Forensic Psychiatry.
- Dr. Sheorn has been honored with the 2015 Distinguished Teacher Award for Innovative Teaching at Virginia Commonwealth University's Medical College of Virginia (VCU/MCV). She also received the 2014 Joel J. Silverman, MD Award for Excellence in Medical Education, the 2012 Favorite Teacher Award, and the 2004 Most Effective Resident Supervisor at VCU/MCV.
