Nancy M. Major, MD, has been a board certified, fellowship trained Musculoskeletal Radiologist for 20 years, having spent nearly all in an academic position. The past few years she has been working for orthopedic surgeons and doing consulting.

Dr. Major did residency at UCSF, MSK fellowship at Duke University, and was on faculty at Duke for 13 years. She was also chief of MSK radiology at University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Major' area of research interest is musculoskeletal imaging with a concentration in sports related injuries, musculoskeletal tumors, and biomechanics associated with injuries. She is a well-published author in peer reviewed health journals within the field, and serves a co-editor of Musculoskeletal. She has also served as co-editor for a number of other radiology medical books and references, including Netter’s Correlative Imaging: Musculoskeletal Anatomy, Musculoskeletal MRI, 2nd Edition, A Practical Approach to Radiology, Fundamentals of Body CT, 3rd Edition and Radiology Core Review. She has a special interest in education, and was named Teacher of the Year when she served as a member of the faculty at Duke University School of Medicine.

Dr. Major lectures nationally and internationally on all topics of musculoskeletal radiology to residents in training as well as radiologists in practice. She also provides background to injuries occasionally for Monday Night Football.
