Michael Schechter, MD, MPH
, is a Pediatric Pulmonologist
with extensive practice experience, academic credentials, and a national and international reputation in the care of neonates and children with Lung Disease and Respiratory Disorders
Dr. Schechter is a Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine at Virginia Commonwealth University and Children's Hospital of Richmond. He is also Director of the VCU Cystic Fibrosis Center and the Children's Hospital of Richmond Community Asthma Program, Immediate Past Chair of the Section of Pediatric Pulmonology of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and Associate Editor of the AAP Handbook on Pediatric Pulmonology
. Dr. Schechter is a previous Chair of the Pediatric Program Committee of the American Thoracic Society.
- Having spent the early part of his career as a general pediatrician, Dr. Schechter has insight into standards of care for pediatric generalists. He has been an academic pediatric pulmonologist at several institutions for over 15 years, dealing with children who have rare and common, simple and complex respiratory conditions. He is skilled in bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing, and in chronic mechanical ventilation.
Dr. Schechter's expertise is available to counsel representing both Plaintiff and defendant. His services include medical record review, written reports, depositors, and trial testimony when needed.
