Chad Fuhrmann is a Marine and Mechanical Engineer with two decades of experience in the marine industry including 17 years in the Dynamic Positioning Sector.

Background - After graduating from the United States Merchant Marine Academy in 1998, Mr. Fuhrmann sailed as an engineer in the international offshore sector earning his Chief Engineer’s license. In 2008, he shifted his focus shoreside, working internationally as a consultant serving the DP sector and the marine industry at large.

Mr. Fuhrmann maintains his U.S. Coast Guard Chief Engineer’s license and continues his professional development with various continuing education coursework in project management, expert witness training, and incident / accident investigation. He is the recipient of a full scholarship to the inaugural 2014-2015 WorkBoat Strategic Leadership Program at Louisiana State University.

Mr. Fuhrmann is currently the Americas Business Director for Maritime Assurance and Consulting Ltd (MAC) and volunteers his time with focused industry groups including the National Offshore Safety Advisory Committee and the Marine Technology Society.

    Captain Stephen A. Richter, Master Mariner and First Class Pilot, has been a licensed Ship Master for over 30 years and brings almost four decades of experience to his work as an expert witness and marine consultant.

    He holds first class pilot endorsements for nearly every waterway between the Delaware River and the Boston Harbor, in addition to the lower Mississippi River and St. Croix in the U.S.V.I. As an experienced Bar Pilot, River Pilot, and Docking Pilot, he has piloted ships of all types, sizes, and registry including tankships, containers ships, car ships, naval vessels, tugs and barges, ATB’s, and smaller crafts.

    As a sea pilot, river pilot and docking pilot, Captain Richter piloted over 3500 vessels in New York Harbor, the Delaware Bay and River, the Hudson River, Long Island Sound and the ports of Long Island Sound, Narragansett Bay, and St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. He piloted, docked, and undocked ships with various propulsion arrangements, I.T.B’s., A.T.B’s., Tugs and Barges and ships in excess of 160,000 Deadweight tons and completed transits as well as docked and undocked vessels in areas of heavy traffic, anchored ships in crowded anchorages, and piloted in all conditions.

    Captain Richter is a member of the Maritime Law Association of the United States, the South Easter Admiralty Law Institute, the Marine Advisory Committee for the Delaware River, and the Advisory Board for the Maritime Academy Charter High School in Philadelphia.

    Litigation Support - Captain Richter utilizes his experience in the marine industry to assist with depositions and case preparation, prepare expert witness testimony, and consult on Marine Safety and Navigation resulting in numerous favorable settlements. His services are available to counsel representing both Plaintiff and Defense.
