Dr. Lawrence S. Mayer is a full-time professor and a part-time consultant in epidemiology and biostatistics who focuses on data analysis and models used in risk estimation. Dr. Mayer is one of the few MD/PhD biostatistician-epidemiologists. He is a professor of biostatistics, epidemiology, public health and medicine. He trained as a physician, a medical epidemiologist and then as a statistician and biostatistician. Dr. Mayer prides himself on being able to communicate complex ideas in simple language. His areas of expertise focuses on the analysis of the inferences made from a given set of epidemiological or biostatistical methods. He has worked on problems in drug and device development and regulation, product liability, patent disputes, occupational and environmental exposures, medical malpractice, and data/model interpretation in numerous specialties including internal medicine, toxicology, psychiatry, Ob/Gyn, and surgery.Dr. Mayer has given about 50 depositions over 30 years in a variety of cases
