Dr. Kerry L. Knapp has a strong educational and experience-based background in Biomechanics and Forensic Biomechanics. Recent studies and research in Human Functional Anatomy, Physiology, Human Neuroscience and Human Biomechanics form the basis for current case analysis work in Injury Biomechanics. Broad personal experiences in the areas of aviation, boating, sports, agriculture, and construction add experience-base understanding to all aspects of case analysis.
Dr. Kerry provides expert witness testimony on cases were human motion, human response to external loading and/or tissue damage or death are issues. His casework includes all types of motor vehicle accidents including large commercial trucks, boats, seatbelt issues, rollovers and ejections; pedestrian / motor vehicle accidents; slip / trip / fall injuries; falls from heights; industrial accidents including product design an product liability; sports injuries including technique analysis; wrongful death; shootings; beatings; and criminal forensics.
Areas of Expertise: Biomechanics Analysis: The integration of the laws of physics, human structural anatomy, and engineering to describe the motion of the body and body segments.Injury Causation Analysis: Coupling the knowledge of force and motion with a thorough understanding of functional human anatomy, biomechanics and human tissue mechanics to explore the possible relationships between external events and mechanically-induced human tissue injury.Injury Mechanisms: Detailed descriptions of the injury causing sequence of events and how such events produce specific tissue damage (injury) in humans.
