PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

 

Litigation

  • Testified in numerous trials and depositions involving insurance related disputes to       include complex coverage issues, policies and procedures, and bad faith matters as an

            expert witness and as a corporate representative.

Management

  • As the claim manager for two large property casualty insurors, Aetna and Travelers,    managed the technical claim handling of personal, commercial and national account  

            claims, ensuring the adequacy of loss reserves in excess of $500 million.

  • Developed and implemented professional claim handling policies and procedures to ensure compliance with state regulatory guidelines. Conducted work product audits internally on an ongoing basis and in conjunction with state regulatory staff during regularly scheduled market conduct examinations.

 

Technical

  • 27 years technical claim handling experience in complex coverage and loss development scenarios including professional liability, pollution, construction defect, advertising liability, commercial/personal liability/,automobile, homeowners, property, and life insurance, as well as significant contract surety exposures.
  • Selected  to participate in the American Insurance Association/NAII task force on the impact of the Florida No Fault/Threshold laws on insurance claims and affordability. Identified the geographic and economic drivers impacting industry results.
  • Served as a Tampa Bay area community resource on insurance issues, e.g. several local television interviews and a guest on a community talk show on matters such as hurricane preparedness and personal risk management.
  • Currently serving as a contract consultant to ACCS, Inc. which provides claim auditing services to insurers, re-insurers, third party administrators and self insured captives.
