Steven J. Meyers, President and Chief Technical Officer at DVI, is an experienced
Aircraft Accident Investigator who combines scientific analysis, material science, laboratory testing, piloting expertise, aircraft maintenance, and human factors to investigate air safety issues. He has a Masters Degree in Aeronautical Science, BS in Engineering Physics, AS in Manufacturing Engineering Technology, and an Extension Diploma in Applied General Metallurgy.
Mr. Meyers has piloted / instructed in 60 different types of aircraft ranging from turbines to gliders to seaplanes. He is a multi-engine, instrument rated commercial pilot, active flight instructor (CFI), FAA licensed Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic (A&P), and FAA Inspection Authorization (IA). His prior investigations range from the failure of composite airframe structures, to the use of unapproved parts, to reconstructing ground vehicle incidents. He also evaluates the effects of corrosion, temperature, and mechanical stresses on the properties and performance of materials. He served in the USAF/ANG as a non-commissioned Intelligence Officer.
Mr. Meyers has authored over 20 technical papers on topics within his field of expertise. He has delivered numerous presentations and workshops on aviation issues including safety, human factors, and accident investigation procedures to entities throughout the nation.
