David A. Preiss, MD, PhD
, has practiced General Anesthesia
for 7 years and works in diverse practices, including academic, private, and community. Dr. Preiss has experience in general surgeries including neurosurgery, orthopedic, urology, gynecology, ambulatory, plastic, gastric, endoscopy, and interventional radiology.
Dr. Preiss earned an MD from Boston University School of Medicine and a PhD in Applied Science and Engineering (Biomedical) from the University of Toronto. His background in biomedical engineering has facilitated application of his medical knowledge to a variety of other fields, including Medical Records Analysis
Dr. Preiss is currently an Epic MD Lead in the Department of Anesthesiology, Perioperative, and Pain Medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and an Assistant Professor of Anesthesia at Harvard Medical School.
A leader in his field, Dr. Preiss has been honored with the Excellence in Anesthesia Award from Brigham and Women’s Hospital in 2016, the Shore Fellowship in Medicine Award from Harvard University in 2016, and the BWH Research Institute Grant in 2015. He has delivered presentations on topics within his expertise around the nation and internationally including Canada, Switzerland, Italy, and Bolivia.
- David A. Preiss has consulted on cases has been retained as an expert in Pain Medicine and Anesthesiology for several years. He has worked with complex medical cases since training and continues to work across broad areas of anesthesia. Dr. Preiss' services are available to attorneys representing plaintiff and defendant and include medical case review, written reports, depositions, and trial testimony as needed.
