Video services.

With the proliferation of CCTV cameras, Ring cameras, Nest cameras, Arlo cameras, cell phone cameras, traffic cameras, dash cameras, body-worn cameras, and more, it is becoming increasingly rare for significant events to occur without being captured on at least one camera.  Principle Forensics can help make sense of it all.

Video services.

Recovery.

Video evidence is found in many different forms, on a variety of devices. Whether it is surveillance footage on a proprietary DVR, body-worn camera footage on a cloud server, or Instagram footage on a cell phone, Principle Forensics will help you recover the evidence in a forensically sound manner, while maintaining the highest audio and picture quality.

Enhancement.

We will employ highly specialized tools and expertise to correct a wide variety of clarity problems, including under- or over-exposure, shaky footage, distortion, interlacing, color correction, sharpening, etc.  Depending on the situation, critical details can be highlighted by slowing the footage down and/or emphasizing elements with motion graphics.

Analysis.

After footage is authenticated, enhanced, and synchronized as necessary, our thorough frame-by-frame analysis will reveal details otherwise invisible at full speed.  We will capture high-quality still images of critical frames to be included in the final report.

Authentication.

With “deep fakes” becoming increasingly common, it is often difficult to know if what you are watching is real.  Sometimes the source of a video recording is unknown, or a video’s authenticity is questioned.  Principle Forensics will assist with tracking down the source of the recording and determine if the footage appears to have been manipulated.

Synchronization.

Footage of the same event from multiple camera angles can be synchronized and displayed side-by-side. We often find that on-screen timestamps are inaccurate, so we will employ alternative methods to ensure your footage is perfectly synchronized.  Audio tracks may also need to be resynchronized after audio enhancement to match video tracks.

Redaction.

Video footage may need to be redacted to protect the identity of bystanders, undercover personnel, names, addresses, phone numbers, license plates, etc.  There are many options to obscure faces, details, entire frames, or audio as needed.  We will help you maintain the privacy of innocent persons before you release footage to the media or opposing counsel.

Final product.

When the lab work is complete, we will prepare a final report and export the enhanced footage in a high-quality standard video format for easy playback on any device.

“A recent homicide in West Sacramento would unquestionably still be unsolved if it wasn't for the forensic video work Nick did for us.”
