Image services.

An average person’s cell phone contains over 600 digital photographs. When digital images need to be professionally authenticated, enhanced, or analyzed, Principle Forensics can help.

Image services.

Authentication.

Digital images are cropped, retouched, filtered, and manipulated in numerous other ways.  Manipulation of digital images is so common, “Photoshop” has become a verb.  We will use sophisticated tools to help determine the authenticity of your evidence, including advanced algorithms to help show if portions of the image have been cloned, added, or removed.

Analysis.

We will conduct a detailed analysis of the metadata, quantization levels, and file structure associated with images.  As necessary, we will also perform a thorough side-by-side or overlaid pixel-by-pixel analysis and comparison of images.

Enhancement.

We can correct a wide variety of clarity problems including under- or over-exposure, motion blur, noise, lens distortion, saturation, sharpening, etc. We can also enhance details in your digital images by using sophisticated techniques like frame stacking, edge finding, pattern elimination, resampling, color isolation, histogram manipulation, etc.

Photogrammetry.

Photogrammetry is the science of taking geometric measurements from images.  We can help you determine critical spatial data, such as the height of a person, speed of a vehicle, or trajectory of a gunshot, from analysis of photographs or video still frames.

Final product.

When the lab work is complete, we will prepare a final report and export the enhanced images in a high-quality standard format for easy viewing on any device.

“Thank you so much for your highest professional and ethical practices towards the [image analysis] I asked you to do. I strongly recommend you for anybody that is seeking to do forensic analysis.”
