As of January 2024, Dr. Jay has been deposed more than 150 times and has reviewed over 1,000 cases for both defense (52%) and plaintiff (48%), including peer review, accidents, and malpractice. He has qualified in Superior Court over 75 times and have never been disqualified on the stand or prior to trial. At least 95% of his time is spent in patient care.

He holds two current professorships: UCLA School of Dentistry (Volunteer) & NYU College of Dentistry and is licensed in 42 states to opine on the standard of care, with specific licenses in California, Nevada, New Mexico, and the Northeast as well as a Florida Expert Certification.
Dr. Jay graduated NYU in 1988, did his GPR Residency — NYU in 1989, was a Lieutenant in the United States Navy from 1989- 1991, and has had his private practice in Brentwood, CA since 1991, serving over 15,000 patients yearly on a fee-for-service basis.
In 1991, Dr Jay founded the non profit Homeless Not Toothless, which has treated over 124,000 homeless Veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, and foster children to receive over $10 million in pro-bono dental care.
Dr. Jay is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Orthodontics, the American Dental Association (ADA), the American Legion, the Medical Disciplinary Committee Delta Dental, the Veteran Administration QME Examiner, and was part of the Peer Review Committee ADA from 1995-2009.
