    Sherry L. Young, OTR, is a nationally board certified Occupational Therapist. Registered with the National Board for Certification on Occupational Therapy and a Certified Functional Capacity Evaluator, she specializes in Functional Capacity Evaluations.

    Ms. Young provides Functional Capacity Evaluations to encompasses the entire human experience including physical, cognitive, emotional, visual perceptual, and social skills required to handle the demands of today’s home, community, and occupational environments. Main assessment areas include Positional Tolerances, Lifting Abilities, Manual Speed and Dexterity, Level of Effort, Cognitive Status Abilities, and Emotional Status Abilities.

    Ms. Young's background experience includes years of patient treatment and job site analyses, mainly for University of Colorado employees. She has had contracts with Boulder County and Longmont Foods as their sole rehabilitation providers providing treatment, job site analysis, post-offer pre-employment screens / physicals, and functional capacity evaluations from Boulder to Longmont in 3 locations. She has also has served on the Workman’s Compensation Treatment Guidelines Task Force for chronic pain and lower extremity.

    Consulting and Litigation Support - Ms. Young offers Functional Capacity Evaluations for counsel representing both Plaintiff and Defendant. Her company, Starting Point Rehabilitation Inc., is the only facility in the country providing a 3 day functional capacity format allowing for more comprehensive evaluation and stronger validity compared to shorter formats. With a combination of functional work simulation activities and computer-based protocols they offer the most objective and reliable FCE available.
