He is a Snow Expert in black ice, sleet, freezing rain, and slick conditions. He is very familiar with the snow and ice removal industry standard operations and practices across the country, and will help determine how this relates to the snow removal agreement or operations in a slip and fall incident or snow related accident.
Principal, Jeremy Swenson, CSP, has satisfied requirements by SIMA (largest nationally recognized snow and ice trade organization-Snow and Ice Management Association) to become a Certified Snow Professional. There are less than 250 CSP’s in the United States Of America. He works with attorneys on defense and plaintiff sides with regards to snow removal, ice treatment, and snow removal best practices issues. He works nationwide and will travel. Swenson Consulting also offers detailed Weather Analysis services and reports for situations surrounding a slip and fall event or accident and will offer detailed weather expert witness consultation regarding the weather surrounding the slip and fall accident.
Mr. Swenson currently owns and operates Snowmen, one of the largest snow and ice management companies in North America. He is Security Clearanced and trained for onsite snow operations at the IRS Regional Headquarters, FBI Headquarters, Department Of Treasury Buildings, and many types of Airport, Railroad, Organ Transplant Centers, and Medical facilities. After overseeing thousands of commercial accounts over the years, he has worked through most every issue that is relevant to a snow removal operation in the industry.
Dr. Alicia Wasula earned her Bachelor, Master and Doctoral Degrees in Atmospheric Science at the University at Albany and recently earned her CCM as well. She developed a passion for severe weather and traveled to the Great Plains to study it in the field. She spent a summer in Norman, Oklahoma at the National Storm Prediction Center, doing research with Bob Johns, a prominent severe weather scientist.
In graduate school, Alicia developed a skill for making difficult meteorological concepts understandable in the classroom. Alicia taught a variety of courses from upper level science to entry level courses for non science majors, earning praise for her communication style.
During her post-graduate studies, Alicia continued to work closely with operational forecasters on research projects at the Albany National Weather Service Office and the the Storm Prediction Center on both her Master and Doctoral research projects.
Alicia continues her passion for science and clear communication and delivers the real documented scientific facts to our clients in terms readily understood by non meteorologists.
David B. Spiegler, CCM has more than 45 years of proven experience in providing expertise across a broad spectrum of activities involving Meteorology, Climatology, and the Environment. Since the 1980s, he has provided expert analysis for more than 50 law firms and insurance companies on weather related legal and/or insurance claims. Mr. Spiegler has worked on cases in a number of states and has testified in district and superior courts, at arbitration hearings, and at environmental regulatory hearings. He has always been found to be qualified by the court.
Mr. Spiegler's cases range from slip and fall accidents, to motor vehicle, aircraft, and boating accidents, wrongful death and homicide, as well as cases for which damage to – or loss of – property from wind , snow, heavy rain, flooding, and ocean waves occurred. For many cases, he visited the site of the event and evaluated the physical and terrain factors. For all cases, he acquired, analyzed, and interpreted the weather data, reconstructed the weather at the time and location of the event/incident and/or damage or loss, and provided expert opinion and rationale for the opinion.
