David Smith is an experienced mechanical engineer (MS, PE) with seven issued patents. Award-winning inventor. Vice President of Alpine Engineering and Design, a mechanical engineering consulting company with clients around the United States ranging from individual inventors to Fortune 500 companies. Worked on the development of multiple successful products including among other things: aerial lifts, garbage trucks, thrill rides, ziplines, trailers, oil and gas equipment, exercise equipment, manufacturing equipment, and multiple consumer products. 

Graduated Cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Completed a master's of science degree in mechanical engineering and an MBA with an emphasis in product development. Licensed professional engineer (PE) and certified safety professional in comprehensive practice (CSP). Certified trainer for boom lifts, scissor lifts, rough terrain, and counterbalanced forklifts. Over 10 years of experience in product development, patents, equipment safety, and risk assessments. 

Experienced expert witness having drafted over 200 reports/declarations in patent cases and catastrophic injury and death cases. Designed and built multiple custom testing devices to obtain data and evaluate opinions. Created multiple demonstratives to explain the mechanics and circumstances of accident sequences and patented devices. Testified in deposition 11 times and in trial once.

Ms. Vanessa Malone, P.E., is the Owner and Founder of Preeminent Solutions, Inc, a forensic engineering and design engineering firm.

Malone is a licensed professional civil / structural engineer with almost 20 years of experience in civil/structural design, forensics, and expert work. She is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where she was one of the few female graduates to receive a Masters in Computational Mechanics.

Over the course of her career, Malone has led teams within a series of private firms in the design, analysis, forensic investigation, and seismic probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) of nuclear structures, aerospace structures, commercial structures, industrial towers, multi-story buildings, and more. Key firms include Thornton Tomasetti, Westinghouse Electric, Jacobs Technology, Amentum, Southern Nuclear, Bechtel, General Electric, ANSYS, and more.

Likewise, over her nearly two (2) decades of experience, Malone has spearheaded analysis and design with several federal organizations, including NASA (The National Aeronautics and Space Administration), the NAVY, NIST (The National Institute of Standards and Technology) NOAA (The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration), and NESDIS (The National Environmental Satellite, Data, and Information Service.

In her early career, Malone worked as a scientist and teacher. She believes that information is best when it is easily digestible to those within and outside of the practice of engineering. She uses this philosophy to create clear, visual and audio presentations to break down complex structural failures, determine cost, and bound repairs.

Malone specializes in industrial structures, nuclear structures, earthquake analysis, wind load analysis, and finite element analysis (FEA), in addition to other specialties.

She is licensed in multiple states, including Florida, California, Texas, Washington D.C., Virginia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Louisiana, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, and Tennessee.

Malone is multi-lingual, though she primarily works and writes in Spanish and English.
