Dr. Kanellakopoulos is a technology leader with 25+ years of experience in R&D and engineering management in both academia and industry. He has designed and built telecom products such as DSL and Carrier Ethernet hardware and software, as well as a prototype fully automated electric vehicle. He has conducted applied research in adaptive control of nonlinear systems, with applications to automotive driver assistance systems (adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring, vehicle collision avoidance) and active suspensions. He has significant experience with international telecommunication standards (ITU-T SG15/Q4), and has directed collaborative projects with several automotive/truck manufacturers and vendors (Ford, Mercedes-Benz, DaimlerChrysler, Freightliner, Gentex, Visteon). His deep technical expertise in the areas of telecommunications and automotive driver assistance systems has allowed him to analyze patents and products in detail, and explain clearly (in expert reports, depositions, and court testimony) the main issues that the judge and jury need to comprehend in order to understand the essence of the case. His extensive educational experience allows him to help judges and jurors understand the topic they are dealing with, instead of confusing them with unnecessary technical details. After all, it takes excellent teaching skills and a deep understanding of a complex technical concept to convey the essence of that concept to non-experts without talking down to them.
Myles H. Kitchen is an Automotive Electronics Engineer with over 45 years of hands-on design, development, testing, manufacturing, and technical marketing of Automotive Electronics Components & Systems for both OEM and Aftermarket.
Background Experience - Mr. Kitchen has worked on nearly every electronic system used in vehicles in OEM and Aftermarket. He also has experience with Consumer Electronics Products, Medical Devices, and Voice Recognition / Natural Language Dialogue software platforms. He is a Lifetime SAE Member, currently serving on 4 Committees for Cybersecurity and Diagnostics. He is a former member of SAE J2657 Committee on Tire Pressure Monitoring. He is "hands-on", a licensed racing driver, and 3 time series champion.
Mr. Kitchen is a former Design Engineer for Motorola's Automotive Division (ignitions, engine controls), former Director of Automotive for National Semiconductor (semiconductors for all types auto electronics), former Director Automotive for Intel Corp (micro controllers and memories for automotive), and former VP Product Development / VP Marketing / Sales for Zemco Group (OEM and Aftermarket automotive electronics products - cruise controls, trip computers, security, remote keyless entry, clocks, modules and more). He also was part owner of Quantic Industries, an OEM vendor of airbag squibs and energetic devices.
Litigation Support - Myles H. Kitchen provides expert consulting and forensic investigation in legal matters involving Automotive Electronics. His services are available to attorneys representing both Plaintiffs or Defendants. He also has been engaged in patent matters, merger / acquisition support, due diligence, and USPTO INTER PARTES reviews. He has been deposed over 12 times, and testified at trial 4 times. He has capabilities to download embedded data from airbag and other vehicle systems, including those not supported by OEM tools.
