Michael S. D’Angelo, CPP, CSC, CHPA, founder of Secure Direction Consulting, LLC. He has been in the public safety and private security industries for over 25 years.
Background - Before transitioning into security management, Mr. D’Angelo was a Police Captain, serving 23 years with the South Miami Florida Police Department. During his law enforcement career, he served in a variety of specialized units and gained significant managerial experience as a supervisor, middle manager, and senior commanding officer. Upon transitioning to the private security profession, Mr. D’Angelo was hired as the Corporate Security Manager for Baptist Health South Florida, where he served as an internal consultant for security and emergency preparedness to six hospitals and a multitude of outpatient/non- hospital facilities. D'Angelo achieved both Board Certification in Security Management (CPP) and Board Certification in Security Consulting (CSC). Capt. Kenneth M. Sanders has over 30 years of experience in the field of Law Enforcement. The last 15 years, Capt. Sanders served as the Director of one of the largest Police Academies in Louisiana, training approximately 10,000 people per year. Upon retirement, he was the Senior Master Instructor for the state, and responsible for all curriculum development and all instructor development for the entire state.
Internal Auditor / Assessor / Consultant: At the request of law enforcement agencies, jails, and prisons, Capt. Sanders conducts internal assessments for compliance with applicable law, policy, and standards. Lauren Rich received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Oklahoma, and a Licensed Certified Social Worker in Arkansas. She also holds a certification from the National Association of Forensic Counselors as a Clinically Certified Sex Offender Therapist and is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate. Robert T. Johnson, a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Illinois State Police, is a Law Enforcement Specialist who currently serves as a Private Consultant for legal issues regarding Law Enforcement Policies and Practices. With over 32 years of active service, he also conducts Sensitive Internal Investigations as an independent investigator for municipalities regarding allegations of Police Misconduct.
Mr. Johnson has extensive experience in Police Administration, Management and Supervision, Criminal Investigations, Patrol Procedures, Complaint/Internal Investigations and Task Force Operations. Robert Johnson's education includes law enforcement and management courses from Northwestern University Traffic Institute, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Michigan State University, and the Illinois State Police. He attended numerous courses and seminars regarding Use of Force, Police Pursuits and has been certified by the Force Science Research Center (FSRC) in analysis of the fundamentals of human dynamics involved in Uses of Force by Police and in High-Speed Pursuits such as Human Behavior and Memory Under Extreme Stress.
Mr. Johnson also conducts independent internal inquiries and serves as an assessor (Team Leader) for the Commission on the Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA). Dr. Mayer is an independent consultant and scholar that holds the position of Visiting Fellow in Human Flourishing, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Harvard University. He has been a full-time tenured professor with recent appoints in statistics, biostatistics, epidemiology, biomedical informatics, public health and medicine (psychiatry). He held various titles including , Professor (Part-time), Bloomberg School of Public Health and School of Medicine, Johns Hopkins University, Affiliated Professor, Mayo Clinic/ASU joint program in Biomedical Informatics, a member of the Research Staff at Mayo Clinic, and Professor at Arizona State University He continues to do research and mentor young physicians and medical students while doing a limited amount of consulting in epidemiology, biostatistics, statistics, observatioan studies and clinical trials.
