This press release is just political posturing. The White House believes they’ve done so much better than the first Trump administration by throwing billions of dollars at the problem of illegal machineguns, which has already had a solution in place since 1934. Its called the National Firearms (sic) Act.

Unregistered machineguns have been illegal for 90 years, as has every bad thing that a criminal can do with one. Once a criminal is caught with one they go to prison. But let’s make crime double-illegal, (grin). That’s always a good way to convince the naive that you’re on top of a problem.

Newsflash: You can’t enforce the newly-added law until you catch someone breaking the law that is already in place.

So this administration plans to spend billions, do a 3 month study, and create a taskforce to enforce a law that can’t be enforced until and unless they find someone possessing an already illegal machinegun. Create a “Taskforce”? There’s already been one with 2500 members since 1972. It’s called ATF. As a federal agent I always found it difficult to stifle my laughter at those who believed that crime is stopped by having meetings.

Our company has been teaching law enforcement personnel how to catch illegal machineguns nationwide for 13 years. First, do something that not even ATF does for its own. Show them what all the common machinegun conversions look like. Then teach them to actually know what they’re talking about concerning firearms as defined in federal law, and the technology that the conversion devices use in their operation. Then go find someone in possession of one.

And by the way, Whitehouse, it’s not even illegal for private citizens to make their own semiautomatic gun if they’re not a felon, etc…That is legally protected activity. And Binary triggers, FRTs, and Super Safeties are NOT machineguns. Read the laws and definitions as written by Congress.

Forced Reset Triggers

By: Daniel G. O'Kelly

There’s a lot of confusion about “forced reset triggers”, or “FRTs”. The first fact to remember is that ALL TRIGGERS are forced into the reset position, and therefore all triggers are “forced reset”. However, most triggers are forced into the reset position by a spring.
