Steven M. Simons, MD, FACP, FCCP attended medical school at Wayne State University and completed his training in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care at Cedars – Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Dr. Kristen Good, MEM, PhD, CIH, Principal Health Scientist; Epidemiologist and Industrial Hygienist is passionate about applying data-driven, scientifically-supported solutions to public health problems. In addition to her technical subject matter expertise and strong scientific background - bringing over a decade of experience advising partners on incident/emergency responses and leading programmatic initiatives related to air pollution exposures, indoor air quality, and respiratory disease; wildfires, communicable disease outbreaks, and occupational health - she is also an experienced supervisor/team leader and project manager responsible for grant administration, contractor relationships, and fiscal management.

Dr. Good has over 15 years of scientific background and experience in risk assessment, toxicology, exposure assessment, and environmental sciences, across academia/research, private industry, and government sectors. I have led design, implementation, and data analysis for multiple large human participant research studies and laboratory-based chemical emissions monitoring campaigns. I have Designed and executed multi-million dollar public health initiatives, including: a $53-million statewide program that delivered over 45,000 portable HEPA air cleaners to over 1,500 K-12 schools and early childhood education centers within a rapid 9-month period; a $20-million small grants program that provided funding for community-based COVID-19 recovery efforts to 68 local non-profits; and a $4-million initiative to conduct indoor air quality and ventilation assessments and improvement efforts in workplaces and community buildings throughout the state. In 2025, I cofounded a consulting firm that is focused on the application of AI-based technology.

Dr. Nicholas Good, Co-Founder & Exposure Science Lead, is an Aerosol Scientist with over 20 years of experience in scientific instrument development, evaluation, and deployment. He has worked across academia, research, and private industry in atmospheric chemistry, cloud physics, indoor air quality, and environmental health. Dr. Good focuses on bridging emerging technology—both hardware and software—from the research laboratory into solving practical real-world problems. He holds a Ph.D. in Atmospheric Science from Colorado State University and a B.A. in Earth and Planetary Science from UC Berkeley.

Dr. Good provides consulting services supporting clients' needs in occupational health and safety, exposure assessment, and environmental health issues—with particular focus on asbestos and benzene exposure reconstructions. Dr. Gavin McMeeking, Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder, is an Aerosol Scientist with over 20 years of background and experience in scientific instrument development, evaluation, and deployment. Dr. Divya Chander, MD, PhD,  is a physician, neuroscientist, and futurist who trained at Harvard, UCSF, UCSD, and the Salk Institute. She is currently the Chair of Neuroscience and Faculty in Medicine at Singularity University. She is also a Visiting Scholar in the Stanford Department of Medicine, Biomedical Informatics, and was a member of the Stanford Anesthesiology Faculty for 8 years.

In the operating room, Dr. Chander applies EEG technology to understand what human brains and the underlying networks look like when they lose and regain consciousness. With an MD from Yale University and an MPH in Biostatistics from Columbia University, Dr. Amsel combined his clinical expertise with his analytic mathematics background to become one of the early champions of the application of Decision Science, Game Theory, and Behavioral Economics to Psychiatric Research. 

Dr. Amsel has published numerous articles and delivered presentations, symposia, and workshops on Behavioral Economics and Game Theory and other topics on Mathematical Psychiatry. Dr. Amsel will contribute to the proposed study, “Adolescent and Family Decision Making In Time of Disaster,” as Co-Principal Investigator and will serve as the team expert on decision tasks, helping to incorporate the selected tasks into the overall study design. He will be involved in supervising the collection of data related to these tasks and will help guide study design, data collection and analysis, and assist in the interpretation and publication of research findings. 

In 2003, Dr. Amsel organized the first ever American Psychiatric Association symposium on applications of Game Theory to psychiatry. He has published articles and presented posters on Game Theory modeling of suicide, OCD, and PTSD. After 9/11, Dr. Amsel joined the Trauma Studies and Services division at the New York Psychiatric Institute, and has been involved in treating victims of 9/11 and their families, in training community clinicians in cutting edge treatments for PTSD and Complicated (Traumatic) Grief, as well as in doing research on optimal methods of disseminating this training. 

Over the last several years, Dr. Amsel has been collaborating with Dr. Hoven at the Child Psychiatric Epidemiology Group (CPEG) working on understanding the connection between decision deficits, trauma and psychiatric disorders in the developing brain of children/adolescents. He has extensive clinical expertise within psychiatric research, as well as expertise in applying decision science tasks in psychiatric research settings.
