Lauren Rich received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Oklahoma and a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kansas. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Oklahoma, and a Licensed Certified Social Worker in Arkansas. She also holds a certification from the National Association of Forensic Counselors as a Clinically Certified Sex Offender Therapist and is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist Candidate. Ms. Rich currently works with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Eastern Oklahoma as a PTSD Psychotherapist where she interviews Veterans and families to establish facts as part of a comprehensive psychosocial assessment and treatment. Her specialty areas of training include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Chronic Pain
  • Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)
  • Prolonged Exposure (PE) for PTSD

Ms. Rich's proficiency with Veterans of combat trauma and those in Federal law enforcement is evidenced by client testimonials. She uses these same techniques on her passion, the prevention of sexual abuse, which extends into helping those who are convicted sex offenders and those who are "non-offending pedophiles."

Every attorney involved in criminal cases inevitably encounters a client who's accused of a sexual crime. Despite believability, it is one of the few crimes when the client is presumed guilty until proven innocent. Regardless of the attorney's role in the case it is imperative that attorneys understand the purpose of psychosexual evaluations (PSE), which client is a good candidate for the PSE, when they should be administered, and who provides such evaluations. This article is a very brief summary of what PSEs entail and has been specifically written for attorneys who practice in Oklahoma and Arkansas.
