Drug-Facilitated Sexual Assault (DFSA) is the use of drugs and/or alcohol by a sexual predator to render a victim incapacitated and unable to fight back against a sexual assault. A side effect of many "Date Rape" or "Club Drugs" is also anterograde amnesia, the inability to recall what happened while drugged, increasing a predator's belief he will "get away with it." Those odds are shifting, but attorneys, Courts and potential victims are better served if they understand some of the drugs used and their impact on mind and body.

A powerful adjunct to post-trauma psychotherapy is body-oriented therapies and methods. Yoga, massage therapy, and Pilates are powerful tools that should be considered and included in the comprehensive treatment plan. In my work with auto accident trauma survivors I daily see the value of combining massage therapy and methods such as Pilates with the verbal working through of trauma in psychotherapy. I believe auto insurance carriers would earn big returns on their investments by paying for personal trainers to work with survivors in regular Pilates sessions which somatically supports the psycho-therapeutic work. When combined with regular massage therapy, the synergy of the combined approaches is the perfect combination for many people attempting to gain improved emotional regulation, physical health, and mobility.

In seeing in the Dark, Andre Watson discusses his journey as a blind visionary. Even though he has no eye sight, he has used his life experiences to develop a new way of seeing himself, others, and the world. Overcoming the misconceptions of blindness proves to be fortuitous as Andre has strived to become a clinical psychologist, an accomplished athlete, husband, and father. The readers will get a glimpse into how he sees and how that way of seeing has helped inspire audiences, guide patients, and redefine what it means to “see” even if one is physically in the dark.
