Mr. Melan was most recently Pipeline Integrity Subject Matter Expert for Marathon Oil's worldwide assets. Just prior to that, he served as Pipeline Technical Authority for Marathon Oil UK ltd. and Marathon Ireland. He is the chairman of the NACE task group responsible for standard SP-0102 (In-Line Inspection of Pipelines), former vice-chairman of the NACE ILI committee for In Line Inspection technical information exchange, and vice-chairman of the NACE task group responsible for Publication 35100, the “In-Line Inspection State-of-the-Art” document.
Mr. Melan was also past chairman of the API workgroup which developed the API 1163, “In-Line Inspection Systems Qualification” standard, and past chairman of an ad-hoc committee established at the request of the USDOT Office of Pipeline Safety (currently PHMSA) in creating the frameworks for API 1163, NACE SP0102, and ASNT ILI-PQ (In-line Inspection Personnel Qualification and Certification). While on assignment in the UK, he participated in the creation of Parts 4 and 5 of British Standard PD8010 (Code of Practice for Pipelines).

Dr. William R. Sawyer is a Professional Toxicologist with a doctorate in toxicology from Indiana University School of Medicine. He is a diplomate of the American Board of Forensic Medicine and has over 30 years of extensive experience in Public Health and Forensic Toxicology. Forensic Environmental & Laboratory Analyses. Through education and experience, Dr. Sawyer has gained extensive expertise in Forensic Petroleum Analyses, Environmental and Clinical Forensic Analyses. Background Experience - Mr. McNulty studied military and diplomatic history at Yale, where he was a varsity football letterman. He was a Federal funds and Eurodollar trader, and also worked in the bank’s international treasury department. During his time with BBH he was selected for training in the elite US Foreign Service, and was commissioned a Foreign Service Officer in November 1990. Volunteering for critical threat postings, Mr. McNulty served tours of duty in Southeast Asia and in Russia. He was a Staff Officer at headquarters in Washington DC, where he worked on energy security issues. He left the Foreign Service to pursue his MBA at Northwestern University, where he studied Analytical Finance and Accounting.
Following business school, Mr. McNulty moved to Houston and worked with three Fortune 100 energy companies: Enron International, Duke Energy, and Plains All American. At all three companies he worked on the M&A teams and in Corporate Treasury. These roles involved transaction due diligence, strategic planning, corporate finance, risk management, and market analysis responsibilities. Mr. McNulty's career has also included substantial cross-border work in Asia, Europe, and in Latin America.
